Got in a Run!!

I think I am almost completely over this cold/whatever.  I did fine the whole run, until 3.33 when I swallowed a bug, grabbed my water bottle to wash it down and the strap that holds the bottle in the belt broke.  I did get a little tight in the hip, but I think I should be fine after stretching and getting back to PT.  Though it might have been a tad slow, it was 85 degrees and I don’t think I’ve run in that heat yet.

My plan is to do PT tomorrow, run Sunday, PT Monday, and do a final long run of 6-8 miles Tuesday or Wednesday.  Then, race on Saturday morning, after a night at the Hilliard Gallery for my solo opening!

I think I’ll be OK… I think!

I’m Sick!

I’ve determined it’s a cold.  I have gone through the stages… first the throat, then the throat with a bit of sneezing and a runny nose (this is when I thought it might be allergies,) then the whole nose-like-a-faucet thing that drives me BONKERS, and now finally it’s in my chest and I am coughing and feeling weak and my head is stuffy so I have a headache.

I STILL have not gotten in my 8 mile run!  I’m trying not to be frustrated, and trying to tell myself that I’ll bounce back in time to get the 8 miler in, perhaps Thursday morning, and not totally suck at the 10k I have planned for June 7th.  I’m not looking to beat any world records or anything, but I do want to feel good on this run.  It’s the same race as my first even 5k last year, and so I want to feel like I am celebrating when I’m out there running.

Thanks, I just had to rant about this stupid cold.  I loathe being ill!

Muggy Morning Run

I have skipped some workouts!  I’m having issues with either allergies or a cold… I feel yucky one way if I don’t take anything, but I feel yucky and tired another way if I don’t.  I do feel a bit better when I am running, but it’s hard to get out there when you are blowing your nose and it feels like you head is being squeezed.  Plus, we’ve had storms rolling through each morning I planned to wake early and head out.
But, I finally got out there this morning.  It was almost 80 degrees already, and the humidity was at 86%.   Hopefully in the next few days, I’ll be able to make up my 8 mile long run.

Cycle at the Park

Since I haven’t been out there in a while on the bike and I have a run or speed session tomorrow, I just did 30 minutes.  Followed it up with a few running drills (skipping, high knees, butt kicks, etc.) before I left the park.
